$10 of the tryout fee covers the cost of the Quad Cities Rush tryout t-shirt that is yours to keep. Any remaining amount is considered a non-refundable deposit that states your commitment to the program. Players must be registered online by May 23, 2023 to guarantee a tryout t-shirt. Players registered online after May 23, 2023 may or may not receive a t-shirt with their fee depending on t-shirt availability.
The remainder of the tryout fee (after the cost of the t-shirt) is your indication of commitment to the program. If you child is selected to a team and you decide to have them play, the remainder of the tryout fee will be put toward your season player fees. If you child is selected for a team and you decide to not have them play, your non-refundable portion will not be returned. If your child is not selected for a team, then the remainder of the tryout fee will be credited to your account.
Tryout Process:
Players will be evaluated on many aspects of the game including technical and tactical situations. Coaches of a given age group will conduct the tryout session while coaches from other age groups will evaluate the players. The evaluating coaches will select players to fill a starting line up for a given age group. The coach of that age group will then fill the remaining roster spots for a team. This gives players the opportunity to be evaluated by someone other than their head coach. It also gives the head coach the flexibility of selecting players for a team that may not have had a "good" try-out or were unable to attend.
Unable To Attend Tryouts:
If a player is unable to attend the scheduled tryout, they must still register online. Parents should also send an email to their current head coach (if they were on a team the previous season) as well as our Assistant Director of Coaching at [email protected] and Director of Coaching [email protected] letting them know the player will not be able to attend.
Registering online and letting the head coach and Director of Coaching know of a missed tryout will ensure that the player is considered for a team. Every effort will be made to place the player on a team if a roster spot is available.
